The Faculty’s main focuses include academic research and scholarship for the advancement of understanding and knowledge; the education of practitioners, researchers and professionals; policy research and consultation; and cooperative partnerships with other educational, business and community organisations. It pays special attention to the teaching of English as a first and second language, and of French as a second language, and is also committed to enabling the transfer of knowledge between Canada and other countries. The WYNG Foundation has helped make possible scholarly exchanges between McGill University and the Education University of Hong Kong on education-related issues such as inclusive education and bilingual teaching, mental health of students and pre-service teachers in Hong Kong.
