About us
WYNG Foundation aims to enhance the physical, mental, social and cultural well-being of Hong Kong people.
Since its establishment over a decade ago, the Foundation has designed, developed, supported and delivered many strategic initiatives to increase awareness of, and contribute to the cohesion, equity, resilience and diversity of the Hong Kong community. Those initiatives span across academia, media and urban & community, as focus areas.
WYNG Foundation is privately funded, supports research to inform its initiatives, and is different as it does both external grant-making and internal programming. The Foundation runs two internal programmes: WMA and The Space. WMA (or WYNG Media Award) is a platform that promotes social change through images. The Foundation also hosts a unique hub of diverse but like-minded socially focused and environmentally-focused NGO under “The Space”.

About the role
The role of WYNG Foundation Grants Director is full time, based in Central, Hong Kong and immediately open.
As Grants Director, the resources you help channel to NGOs and projects in Hong Kong improve the lives of tens of thousands of people, and contribute to make Hong Kong better. You work in line with the Vision, Mission and Values of the Foundation. You lead and manage the Foundation’s grant-making effort, from building the pipeline, managing applications, planning the budget, establishing the partnerships with the grantees, to reporting on progress and impact. The WYNG Foundation uses “Theory of Change” principles to design, report as well as produce strategic recommendations to build a diverse portfolio based on agreed areas of focus, risk profiles and sustainability dimensions.
You inform the plan ahead and think strategically, working directly with the CEO to whom you report. The role also includes closely working with the Grants Committee, made of Trustees.
Externally, the role implies to be the face and voice of the Foundation’s grant-making effort. The Grants Director identifies opportunities and develops nurturing partnerships with past, current and future grantees.
Ultimately, the Grants Director aspires to grow as a person and a professional as s/he/they grow the WYNG Foundation’s grant-making capability to have a positive impact on Hong Kong. This role offers the opportunity to be a key contributor to the Hong Kong philanthropy sector.
